A founding director of Wasafiri, Ian provides strategic and financial oversight across the company. He is President of Wasafiri USA.

Ian’s consultancy has targeted global food systems with a focus on Africa, including for the US, UK and German governments, the World Economic Forum, Swiss Re and PepsiCo. Ian played a strategic role in establishing the architecture for multi-stakeholder collaboration to strengthen Africa’s agricultural economies, and in expanding commercial approaches to increase smallholder incomes.

Ian’s diverse career has always promoted collaboration on complex issues from climate change to the Sri Lanka conflict, the Pakistan earthquake response to US community relations. Through his research on social change, Ian holds a MPhil from Newcastle University and is a Fellow of the RSA.
