Jamal is a lawyer and a security/ conflict practitioner working across communities in Kenya. He sees himself as a true rainmaker, who brings a unique vision to his work; he has experience in analyzing, conducting and presenting research findings — experience drawn from his diverse career in fields such as education, governance, media, mentorship and entrepreneurship. He also brings experience in environmental assessment and stakeholder engagement in the extractive and mining industry.
He has been actively involved in countering violent extremism through community-based research and by being one of the few to work on Kenya’s first County CVE Action Plan. His ambitions are to provide strategic insight to strengthen policy, programme design, and political engagement so as to help communities to handle complex problems and make better decisions.
