RESEARCH & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

Nathaniel provides research, advocacy and community engagement expertise in Wasafiri’s Conflict portfolio. With passion in research that leads to improved ways of doing things within communities, Nathaniel has been part of the teams that have successfully implemented research led community-based projects on conflict mitigation, countering violent extremism, stakeholder engagements among other fields.

Nathaniel’s experience spans ten years, where he has spent time working with change leaders in communities on research and community work. He recently led successful community-led action research on countering violent extremism in Lamu island in Kenya. He is currently completing his Masters in Gender and Development Studies, studying men, masculinities and insecure livelihoods in informal settlements.

In his free time, Nathaniel loves taking long drives with his wife, learning about small scale farming practices and spending time on his farm in Western Kenya.
